SpacerWhat is "tunedto.com" all about?

While Collecting and restoring antique and vintage radios can be very rewarding. It can also be quite a challenge. Radio enthusiasts are on the whole a very generous and helpful group who are more than willing to share their time and knowledge with others. They are however, often unaware of the needs of others, or are so involved in the demands of every day living, that they often do not have the time to act as mentors.

As a radio collection and restoration enthusiast, I saw a need for a central repository of basic information that could be easily shared with others. Since such a repository did not exist, I decided to create one myself.

A cursory examination of the navigation bar above will indicate what areas we have decided to focus on. Be advised that this is not all inclusive as such an effort is unrealistic. Thousands of pages have been written on the subject, and could not possibly be covered here.

What we will cover is basic to this area of interest. We plan to include:

  • Workshop safety and equipment basics
  • Basic electronic theory for those who wish to explore it
  • Basic tube and radio theory
  • Basic Tube Radio Electronics Restoration
  • Information on Bakelite and Wood cabinet restoration
  • Access to reference materials
  • Link lists for further reading

We are always open to conributions by others, including articles, photos, and suggestions for inclusions on the site. I am by no stretch of the imagination an expert in this area. I simply believe in sharing information with the community at large. If you have something you would like to contribute, please feel free to contact me.
